Monochrome '23

Photography has served as an instrument to push beyond comfort boundaries in recent years. After years of shooting with a mirrorless digital camera, I made the deliberate choice to transition to film — motivated by a slower, more intentional pace and a reduced output volume.

A key commitment was to shoot exclusively black-and-white film. A monochromatic image truly conveys the personality of the artist. Inspired by Elliott Erwitt, Ansel Adams, and Vivian Maier, I began to explore how tonal expression can replace reliance on colour.
